Barack Obama wins the Presidential seat and becomes the first black president.
Obama won a breakthrough in Ohio and Virginia. There are a number of Senate seats that have not yet been decided, but for now congratulations to the Democrats and Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States.

I swear, this will be the last post about Halloween this year. I was browsing through my Friendster account -- which I rarely open -- and I had some extra time to check my friends profile. I found that a lot dressed up for Halloween this year. (I hope they wouldn't mind me posting their pictures on my blog.) And one of my favorite amoung my friends are:
I.A. Loring as "Sponge Babe"
And her husband Tata Loring as "Sponge Bob" with Mr. Scream
Raychel Rico as "Vampire Mom" with her son Wacky as "Vampire Boy"
Loris Pena as a "Bee" and Small Onglatco as an "Angel"

There's no escaping Kate Moss these days. First, she lands as the coverstar for Vogue UK, December 2008 issue.
It's her 26th covershoot for the magazine. The supermodel posed elegantly across a special fold out front cover. An off-white silk-tulle dress, Dior Haute Couture by John Galliano, spring 2007. All make-up by Rimmel. Hair: Sam McKnight. Make-up: Val Garland. Nails: Marian Newman. Fashion Editor: Kate Phelan.
Second, the launch of her seventh line for Topshop.
It's a Christmas collection which includes uber-short party dresses. Here's more images of her Chistmas line which Kate Moss modeled the clothes herself.

Over the long weekend, I could feel that almost everyone is celebrating Halloween. Like I've said earlier, I wasn't in the mood for any kind of celebration. While I was in the mall during the 31st I found some cute kids wearing costumes.
One was a ghost.
This one's a cowboy.
When I got home I was informed that we'll be having dinner for our town's fiesta slash Halloween celebration since -- weather permit -- it didn't rain that night. I didn't have time to invite friends for the party. Most of the guests that went to our place were mostly friends of my cousins. And I find this little girl such a cutie!
My daughter was over enthused with her outfit. It was all her idea.
And here's our family portrait.
Halloween is over, now it's officially Christmas season!

It's been more than a week since I've been back from Manila.
First observation of Iloilo: Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant is closing down it's doors on Iloilo scene. It came as a surprise because I thought all the while it was doing fairly good. I'mma miss Chix Ahoy, Porky Steak, Grilled Chicken Carbonara, Bermuda Salad
They say, when it closes a door, it opens a window. There's this new Filipino restaurant in The Avenue strip named Bauhinia.
I know I've been complaining a lot about my weight these days, but I just had to try this one out. We ordered appetizer, Lumpia ubod.
Kiara doodled while waiting for the food to be served.
Food is here! Binakol and Porkchop, liempo, etc
Leche flan for dessert.
Kiara finished a generous serving of rice, so basically we're fully loaded! But still, Bigby's will be missed.

As the U.S. election draws near, everybody's being patriotic, including Drew Barrymore in this Harper's BazaarNovember 2008 issue.
Inside Harper's Bazaar November 2008 issue, caption this:
So what do you think of Ms. Hilton in the White House, este Pink House?
Harper's Bazaar: Please summarize your presidential platform.
Paris Hilton: I will carry out a foreign-policy platform that will transform America’s role in the world to that of a proactive, not reactive, superpower that will use diplomacy and incentives to head off trouble in unstable regions before they unravel out of control. I will also be wearing platform shoes when I meet with foreign dignitaries to accentuate my well-toned calves.

Halloween. Everyone's been buzzing about it. Even birthdays are now themed Halloween. I don't know why I'm not really in the mood for any celebration nowadays, thinking I already have my outfit and all those Halloween blings.
The internet, eating up 45% of my life has the hots for any occasion, and Halloween is never forgotten. I didn't know anyone who'd send Halloween greeting cards, not until I found this fromBlack Apple.
Isn't it gorgeous? It got me thinking, does everybody do this prior today? Ooh, what the hell, BOO! Happy Halloween everyone!! Lots of threats and less tricks for me will do.

Sometimes local soap operas would get you hooked. I'll give an emphasis on my first word: sometimes. For those who know me really well, I barely watch local television nowadays, my daughter had our TV set on Disney Channel, so I'm in no way an authority in soap operas. But there's always a time wherein I'd be into one or two soaps.
ABS-CBN primetime Iisa pa lamang is my current teleserye hook up.
Call me jologs in every known language after this and I wouldn't mind.
It got to my attention that notable people all over the world -- thanks to The Filipino Channel (TFC) -- is glued to it like I do. So what's the ingredient to it's success? In my opinion, it's because it cuts across all socio-economic groups.
Did you get to watch Diether's cry-fest when Claudine told him everything that really happened in the past? It had me convinced that men can cry too, and it gave a macho and handsome effect on Diet.
Claudine Barretto as Catherine - I love her "palaban" attitude. Cherrie Pie Picache as Isadora - I love her villain lines! They're all memorize-worthy. Angelica Panganiban as Scarlet - Kumustahin naman natin ang headpiece! Always over-the-top. Diether Ocampo as Miguel - I want him to end up with Catherine but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. Gabby Concepcion as Raphael - pretty good acting.
Highlights:
(The confrontation of Catherine and Isadora after Catherine married Scarlet's dad)
Pagisipan mo.
(After Catherine became majority shareholder of Dela Reya foods and voted as president - i think.)
Scarlet:Go to hell! Catherine:I'll see you there!
Oh diba? Panalo! I remember "Maging sino ka man" days. I think "Iisa pa lamang" has that same effect on its viewers. Unfortunately though, the series is about to end and the finale is not to be missed!
Anyway, I had the book a long time ago but I didn't finish it cover to cover, now it's somewhere in our pile of boxes somewhere.
I've been searching for it since I saw the trailer because I have this attitude of reading a book-based movie first before actually watching it in theaters. Oh well, so much for that, I guess I'll have to watch first before reading the book this time around. Anyway, first impression after seeing the trailer: I thought Becky Bloomwood would have that fabulous British accent. *buzz* nope, she's American. And oh, Isla Fisher will be playing the lead Becky.
I'll be expecting those over-the-top outfits. Hmm...

Hello Philippines and Hello world!
I know it sounds a lot more like Tony Gonzaga's line, but after more than a week long slumber from cyber world, it feels great saying that. I'm now back in the net and in Iloilo too. Mercury's retrograde got the better of me - explains the absence, things have been going haywire and that includes my slacking internet connection. Anyhoots, I've been itching to blog but there seems to be no way, not until today.
(I'll do recaps some other time.) Today's a Friday and not only that, it's HSM3 Senior Year premier!! Hurray!
Watched it with my little girl right after school. We had an early dinner and headed inside to watch HSM in the big screen. Oh, by the way, we watched in SM Iloilo movie theater, it's newly renovated but can I just say(?!), I was rather disappointed. REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTED.
It's been a long time since I watched a movie there, what's wrong with the screen? Is it just my vision or is it really blurry to start with? The colors almost seem monochromatic! I know I'm exaggerating, but seriously, it's too dull. Is that what you get when you pay P90 vs. P150?! Hello THX! Iloilo cinemas are in dire need of your technology! Was Sharpey's outfit really fuchsia...or was it pink? I really can't tell. It was better off watching it with my 10 year-old television which works perfectly compared to SM's big screen. I'mma need to zip it. First blog in more than a week and it's all just rants.
So moving on...the premier was a success. It wasn't really packed, we found empty seats even though it's free seating. The music was great, it had us singing our way out - but I still would have wanted to pay P60 more for that quality cinema viewing. Yun lang pow! Need to catch some Zs! Night y'all!

Today's rain was rather annoying. I was over at different buildings here in Makati. When I was just about finished with what I came for, when I was just about to leave, rain poured out real hard. So I was stuck, and I had to waste time to wait for it to die down. I was never a fan of rainy days. It's leaves your shoes wet, your clothes soaked, and in my case, it leaves me sick. But if I look as beautiful as Leighton Meester, wearing this jacket and boots, I'd probably reconsider.
Anyways, I was lounging around over the weekend, and gave Lipstick Jungle a shot. For those who doesn't know, Lipstick Jungle is written by Candace Bushnell, the same writer as the Sex and the City series. But besides the location and the friendship, everything else is different, not in a bad way though.
I actually enjoyed the show, the clothes aren't as theatrical as those of Carrie's in Sex and the City, but I love it. Especially those of Victory Ford - well, she has no excuse to dress bad because she's a designer, despite the negative reviews on her collection. And Nico Reilly - she's HOT! One word says it all for her. And did I mention Kirby? He's hot too. I can't make up my mind which of them I love most. The first season was just seven episodes, if there's such a thing as a "feel good" series, this is one of those.

I've been in M.I.A. mode recently, in Iloilo soil particularly. After spending another 6 days away from home (for the moment) I terribly miss my little nagger, who apparently is busy with both school and her new toys.
I miss my baby so much! Her endless stories and her "ka-artehan"! She'll forever be beautifully imperfect in my eyes. I love you baby.
There are one too many things that you can do here in Manila. And I've been pretty busy since day one. Explains my not-too-recent blog update. When I skip blogging for a day, this means that the going gets tough...in a great way though.
It's a bit too early but hope you guys could come to Makati Sports Club on Nov. 29 and 30 on a Christmas Wish Bazaar. POMELO Lifestyle - an Ilonggo brand - will be there!! We're so excited that we could introduce our product in the highly fashionable Manila...specifically in Makati.

The Barack Obama Dress is seen in the Paris Runway.
It made an appearance at the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac 2009 ready-to-wear show in Paris. I can't believe that designers love Obama so much as to put his face on a sparkling canary yellow dress! And look at the gloves! So..tell me what you think.

It has finally arrived the COMME des GARCONS for H&M Collection that is set to be released in Japan early November and all other H&M markets on November 13th!
According to W Magazine: "Mostly black and with Japanese tomboy airs, the H&M collection includes a range of tailored jackets, many deconstructed, along with cropped pants, baggy shorts and a variety of skirts in stretch wool. On the perkier side are polkadot knits in jersey or merino wool, colorful shirts—some with dots—and a “showpiece” coatdress decorated here and there with dense Victorian ruffles. There are also accessories and a unisex perfume with notes of cedar and patchouli but, alas, no children’s wear."
The collection consists of women’s, men’s and accessories along with perfume. I'm quite excited already and I seriously can’t wait! Love the layering and the accessories - bag, wallet and scarf. Too bad though coz they don't have it here in the Philippines, guess we'll just have to appreciate from afar.
